RAF Coningsby Action
This film shows some of the highlights of RAF Station life featuring some rare and unusual visitors from 1994 to 2001. Included are French F-8 Crusaders visiting 29 Squadron in 1994, a mighty Russian Antonov An-124 Condor, one of the first Royal Air Force C-17 Globemastersm the Red Arrows when they were based at RAF Coningsby in 1997, a VJ Day rehearsal flypast including a Nimrod, E-3D Sentry, Harriers, Hawks, Jaguars, Tornado F3s and GR1s and many more. Also the Royal Norwegian Air Force F16s of 338 Squadron during their visit to 5 Squadron for Operation Brilliant Foil.
Station events featured include the return of Hurricane LF363 after her rebuild following a serious crash at RAF Wittering, and a memorable seven ship flypast, comprising the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aircraft.
The video finishes with a breathtaking Tornado F3 flying display with the 1999 display crew 'Parky' and 'Jabba' - inside the cockpit with aircrew communication and from the ground for the high speed passes and aerobatic manoeuvres. Commentary free with interviews and air traffic control audio.
